The popularity of Lean Six Sigma grows continually as each of those methodologies evolve and become more relevant to the different types of industries each organisation operates in. The learning pathways for learning those skills have also evolved to meet the needs of business today. Here’s an overview.
Learning Lean Six Sigma
Learning the skills of lean and six sigma is fairly easy IF the method of delivery is effective.
At the foundation level the design of that delivery is based on a learning pathway which is nothing more than ‘the sequence of steps you undertake to move through the skills development process‘.
We’ve spent more than a decade studying, applying and enhancing the pathway until it has evolved into what we believe is the most relevant design for organisations in the modern business world today.
Learning Pathway – The sequence of steps you undertake to move through the skills development process.
Lean Six Sigma Learning Pathways
Green Belt Level Skills
At the green belt level, we develop the foundation skills for removing waste with lean, optimising process variation with six sigma, implementing solutions with traditional project management skills, and error proofing processes with FMEA.

Black Belt Level Skills
Once you’ve attained the skills of a green belt, now you layer on more advanced skills associated with making low risk decisions using quantitative analysis (i.e. six sigma statistical analysis), and analysing processes with quality function deployment (QFD)

Master Black Belt Level Skills
At the very highest level we can balance a high level of capability in the technical aspects of lean and six sigma, with the soft skills required of a highly effective change agent.
Master black belts today are simply that – an organisational change agent.
